Springfield’s own State Senator Doris Turner suggests law protecting singers from AI-generated music

Add this to the list of possible new AI laws in Illinois. A Democrat in Springfield is suggesting a law that would ban anyone from using a singer’s voice in an AI-generated song.

State Senator and former Springfield Alderwoman Doris Turner says the idea is to make sure other people aren’t stealing from singers and record labels.

Her plan made it through a statehouse committee last week and is now waiting for a full vote.
