Record-warm temperatures on Tuesday in Springfield expected to give way to thunderstorms across much of Wednesday

It could be a rough start to the week weather-wise for Springfield.

Forecasters say we could see record-warm temperatures later today, but thunderstorms are on the horizon.

Officials say strong to severe thunderstorms are expected in the area beginning tomorrow afternoon and lasting well into the evening.

Residents are being told to expect strong winds, hail and the chance of tornadoes.
