Springfield City Council approves money for demolition and renovations to Pillsbury Mills site

The Springfield City Council has moved forward with the demolition and renovations of parts of the abandoned Pillsbury Mills site.

The plant site covers 18 acres and has been shut
down for two decades.

At this past week’s meeting, aldermen approved one-and-a-half million dollars for the plant’s planned innovations.

Federal funding is expected to help with the overall project, which is expected to cost more than ten-million dollars.
