Coroner Jim Allmon has confirmed the identity of a single-vehicle crash victim in Sangamon County.
Thirty-six-year-old Elizabeth Fernandez of New Berlin was brought in by EMS to Springfield Memorial Hospital’s emergency room after crashing her car on Illinois Route 54 on Friday morning. Ms. Fernandez was pronounced dead just after arrival at 11:48 a.m.
An autopsy has been scheduled for this morning, and the accident remains under investigation by the Sangamon County Coroner and the Illinois State Police.
