UAW workers to return to Ford plant in Chicago with tentative agreement reached, to be voted on this Sunday

Workers at a Ford assembly plant in Chicago are expected to be back on the job soon after a tentative agreement was reached between the automaker and the United Auto Workers this week. About 4,600 workers are affected, and their return may take some time, according to a spokesman for Ford. The strike against GM and Stellantis remains to be resolved.

Currently, about 45,000 UAW members at eight assembly plants and 38 parts distribution centers in 22 states have walked off the job, with union president Shawn Fain threatening more targeted strikes if there is insufficient progress in negotiations with the other two major U.S. automakers.
