UAW strike grows as impacts continue extending across Illinois and greater United States

The ripple effects of the UAW strike against Big Three automakers may soon extend to central Illinois.

When 4,600 workers struck the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant on Friday, it immediately provoked layoffs at the Chicago metal stamping plant.

One of the suppliers that will be affected soon by the Ford assembly plant’s shutdown is Urbana-based parts maker Flex-N-Gate.

The company supplies injection-molded parts for the Chicago Assembly Plant.
