Springfield saw a shooting on Thursday that left a resident of the capital injured and in HSHS St. John’s receiving treatment.
On September 21, 2023 at approximately 4:46 p.m., officers responded to the area of N. 7th Street and Bergen Street concerning a male who had been shot. The victim was located and was noted as having a gunshot wound to the right hip area.
He was transported by ambulance to HSHS St. John’s for treatment, and his injury was reported to be non-life threatening.
Detectives are currently investigating the incident; additional details will be provided as they become available.
