Hy-Vee announces flu shots available with no appointments to combat latest influenza strains

Grocery store chain Hy-Vee has announced the availability of flu shots at their pharmacies with no appointment necessary. Health officials urge people to get the shot every year in order to give maximum protection against the latest strains of the disease.

Patients age three or older are eligible for the shots, and the cost is covered by most insurance plans as well as Medicaid.

The CDC reports that millions of Americans are sickened by the flu every year, hundreds of thousands of people are hospitalized, and tens of thousands of people die from flu-related causes.
