Sangamon County Sheriff and ISP teaming up to enforce DUI regulations over the rest of the Summer

Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday that it was partnering with the state of Illinois to enforce DUI laws across the last gasps of August and the upcoming Labor Day weekend.

The Illinois State Police and law enforcement across the state will be stepping up their efforts in conjunction with the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office to stop impaired driving and help save lives as we near the end of summer and the busy Labor Day weekend

Our first priority is to keep people safe, so we’re asking everyone to plan ahead for a sober ride home if they’ll be drinking or using another impairing substance,” said Sheriff Jack Campbell. “Let’s make this a partnership between law enforcement and motorists: Help us protect the community and put an end to the dangers of impaired driving.”
