All sides continue to work on Springfield’s Wyndham City Centre deal despite recent bumps in the road

Both sides continue to talk in hopes of reaching a deal that could preserve the Wyndham City Centre downtown as a functioning hotel.

Ryan McCrady of the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance says after all parties met on Friday, he remains optimistic that something can be worked out between the City of Springfield and Wyndham owner Al Rajabi.

Mayor Misty Buscher has reduced the dollar amount that the city may offer in incentives to the hotel, but McCrady says both sides are working on ideas to bridge the gap between Buscher’s $11 million proposal and the initial $18.75 million package offered by former Mayor Jim Langfelder.
