Former Springfield Alderwoman taking new assignment at City Hall from Mayor Misty Buscher

A former Springfield alderwoman is one of the people taking on a new assignment at City Hall in the latest batch of appointments from Mayor Misty Buscher.

Buscher made several interim appointments Monday, including Debbie Thompson as director of human resources. Thompson formerly worked at City Water Light and Power and served as Ward 7 alderwoman.

Buscher also announced that former Oak Ridge Cemetery director Mike Lelys will return to that job on an interim basis, and named CWLP Purchasing Agent Mike Lesko as the interim head of purchasing for the entire city government.

Other appointments include Illinois Municipal League attorney Greg Moredock, who will become the city’s corporation counsel – and James Sullivan, who will run information services for the city.
