The head of the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance says the agency remains a solid investment for both government and the private sector.
The City of Springfield will vote in the next few weeks on extending its $250,000 a year contract to provide support to the public-private economic development agency. CEO Ryan McCrady says the Growth Alliance allows businesses to pursue expansion opportunities with a degree of confidentiality that isn’t always available when dealing directly with governmental bodies.
And he says private sector support for the Alliance is also growing because businesses recognize the value of the agency’s work to attract and retain employers.
