The former head of the Springfield Urban League has been named to chair the Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion.
Nina Harris was first appointed to the commission last October; her appointment as chair must still be confirmed by the Illinois Senate.
The Commission on Equity and Inclusion oversees several programs to ensure that women, minorities, veterans, and persons with disabilities have fair and equal access to state government jobs and contracts.
