A screening is planned in Springfield next month for a new documentary on the life of one of the Capital City’s best-known poets and authors.

“The Life and Work of Vachel Lindsay” was put together by the Storyteller Studios, the same local production house that put together the documentary on the Old State Capitol restoration that premiered earlier this year.

The Lindsay documentary will be shown on Friday, April 14th, at Brookens Auditorium at the University of Illinois Springfield. Another screening will take place April 22nd at SIU Carbondale.

The film will also become part of the visitor experience at the Vachel Lindsay home in Springfield and will be available on the state Department of Natural Resources website. Tickets for the UIS screening are free.
