Four Southern Illinois counties have moved back to a high level of community transmission of COVID-19.

One week ago, no counties were listed at a high rate of transmission, but the rate has climbed higher in Franklin, Jackson, Perry, and Williamson Counties.

Sangamon County remains at a low level of transmission, but there has been one more COVID-related death locally in the past week.

That brings Sangamon County’s death toll in the three years since the start of the pandemic to 445.
