Sangamon State Attorney Wright suggests defense lawyers in Earl Moore Jr death don’t want “whole justice” for the family

Sangamon County State’s Attorney Dan Wright suggests that defense lawyers for two EMTs charged with murder are trying to keep the family of Earl Moore, Jr. from obtaining “whole justice.”
The State Journal-Register reports that Wright’s comments come in a motion filed in the ongoing criminal case against paramedics Peter Cadigan and Peggy Finley.
Wright is asking the court to keep the defense from introducing information about other proceedings, including the family’s civil wrongful death lawsuit, into the criminal case.
Wright notes that civil proceedings have different procedures and burdens of proof.
Attorneys for Moore’s family say they are entitled to justice in both the civil and criminal arenas.
