The Sangamon County Coroner has identified the woman who died after being struck by a vehicle on Springfield’s west side Tuesday evening.
33-year-old Kanida Phanthourath died of injuries sustained when she was struck by a car on Durkin Drive near Lawrence Avenue. Springfield Police are still investigating the death, and did not immediately provide information on the circumstances of the incident or whether the driver of the car will face any charges.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen or had contact with the victim prior to the incident to contact them. They say foul play is not suspected.
