The recent combination of high winds and colder temperatures has resulted in lots of leaves falling from trees in the past week… leaving Springfield crews scrambling to keep up with hauling away that yard waste.
The City of Springfield is asking residents to be patient as it’s taking longer for crews to collect and remove those yard waste bags. Republic Services has brought on extra crews to meet the demand.
While the city usually alternates different areas of town from week to week, it will continue working in the North Zone in the coming week until it gets caught up, and will then move to the South Zone.
