Pleasant Plains and other area communities are rallying around a Plains football player who collapsed during Saturday’s game against Riverton and is now hospitalized.
The student had just come off the field when he collapsed on the sidelines late in the first half. Medical personnel tended to him until an ambulance arrived. The game was halted and will be finished at a later date.
Pleasant Plains also cancelled its scheduled homecoming parade Sunday and a Monday JV game, and opened the high school Sunday afternoon so that students could meet with counselors. Other area schools are asking students to wear blue Monday as a show of support for the student.
