A man is dead after being struck by a train late Friday in Springfield.
Coroner Jim Allmon says the 51-year-old victim was pronounced dead just before 11:30pm in the emergency room at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. He was a pedestrian and was struck by the train near the 15-hundred block of Percy Avenue.
An autopsy will be performed Monday. Springfield police are investigating the incident.
