New Solar Facility At Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport Will Power Most Of Its Electrical Needs

Ground has been broken on a new solar facility for Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport.
 
The 2.88 megawatt solar array project in combination with the Springfield Airport Authority and Veregy will be comprised of ground mounted and roof solar arrays spanning all three Airport sites. The system will produce approximately four million kWh and offset over 90% of the current electrical needs for the three airport facilities.
 
Commencement for the $5.6 million project’s installation happened on Thursday morning.
