Fire has destroyed seven cabins and damaged more than a dozen others at a resort at Starved Rock State Park in Utica.
The fire impacted cabins and villas at Grand Bear Lodge which are separate from the lodge’s main hotel and waterpark. Initial reports say the first call came in about a fire on a porch on one of the cabins, but the flames quickly spread to adjacent buildings. Seven cabins were gutted, with the others sustaining varying degrees of fire, smoke, or water damage.
No one was injured in the massive fire, and the cause is under investigation.
