Having come through the pandemic, Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder says the city is now facing a rash of new challenges… including high gas prices, supply chain problems, and worker shortages.
But in his annual State of the City speech Thursday, Langfelder said the city’s strength and resilience will see it through. The mayor offered an optimistic assessment for the rest of 2022, predicting a record-breaking summer for tourism and expressing hope for long-awaited movement on projects like the North Mansion Y Block and a downtown UIS campus.
