Unemployment continues to fall in Springfield.
The February jobless rate locally was 4.8%… down from 5.1% in January, and down substantially from the 6.7% rate in February of 2021. Springfield has added 54-hundred jobs in the past 12 months, with the biggest increases coming in education and health services, and leisure and hospitality.
Springfield’s jobless rate is slightly below the statewide average of five percent.
