The Democratic Governors Association is running TV ads… about the state’s Republican primary for governor.
The new ad takes aim at Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, who is running on a tough-on-crime platform. The DGA ad says Irvin’s rhetoric doesn’t match his actions as a longtime criminal defense lawyer representing people accused of domestic violence, sexual assault, and more. The ad is expected to run on Fox News Channel and during NCAA Final Four games on cable systems around the state.
Irvin’s campaign says the ad is a sign that Governor JB Pritzker and Democrats are “running scared.”
