No injuries are reported in a fire that destroyed a classroom at PORTA High School in Petersburg Tuesday.
Multiple agencies responded to the fire, which was contained to an art classroom in the building. Damage to that room was extensive, and the Petersburg Fire Department reports that smoke had spread to some adjacent rooms, but there was little additional damage.
The fire was quickly extinguished after crews arrived. There was no immediate word on the cause. No injuries were reported.
