Springfield man sentenced to 180 months in prison for involvement in drug conspiracy

A Springfield man, 44-year-old Derrick Bailey, was sentenced in January to 180 months in prison, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release, for his role in a widespread drug conspiracy involving a Springfield street gang.

Bailey was held accountable for trafficking over 10 kilograms of cocaine as a member of the conspiracy. Also, during the hearing, the Judge noted that the group of conspirators was responsible for distributing large amounts of controlled
substances in the Springfield area, which had a negative effect on the community.

Bailey was indicted on December 15, 2020, and pleaded guilty on September 18, 2024. He has remained in the custody of the United States Marshal since his arrest.
