Police arrest two girls for school threats

Charges have been filed after online threats forced some northern Illinois school districts to switch to E-learning on Monday. One threat claimed that armed students would be inside all Joliet schools. Police have now charged a 14-year-old girl who attends Joliet West High School with felony disorderly conduct. A 12-year-old girl is also facing charges.

Police arrest fugitive who stole car with child inside

An Ohio man who allegedly stole a rental car in Peoria with a child inside has been captured in Iowa. Victor Farris, 45, was caught in Monroe County, Iowa Monday after he exited a train. On Sept. 4, Farris allegedly took an SUV from a rental car facility. A 3-year-old boy was inside the vehicle and was eventually dropped off at a gas station unharmed.

Local officials temporarily close nursing home kitchen after violations

A Champaign County nursing home has been forced to temporarily close its kitchens after the county public health district found several violations. The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District reports that they found dead cockroaches, rotted food mixed with fresh food and other violations at Bickford Assisted Living and Memory Care. In the meantime, the dining vice president said they will use local catering services and work with local restaurants to bring in food for the residents.
