Illinois State Museum to host two community conversations about the 1908 memorial proposed for the Springfield Sangamon County Transportation Hub on Saturday

On Saturday, the Illinois State Museum will host two community conversations about the 1908 memorial proposed for the Springfield Sangamon County Transportation Hub.

The first will be held at Union Baptist Church, 1405 E. Monroe St.at 10:30, and the second at Historic Engine House 5 at 1310 E. Adams St. at 2:30.

Attendees will get to see and learn about artifacts and materials discovered during archeological excavations of homes burned during the 1908 Race Riot.
