Sangamon County detectives are still searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting earlier this week in Springfield.
38-year-old Aaron Cutler died of multiple gunshot wounds after he was shot during a fight with the suspect Wednesday night in the 300 block of South Paul Street. Another man who was in the area but not directly involved in the fight was also wounded.
Video from the area shows a car dropping off the suspect a short distance away from where the fight broke out. Police have identified the vehicle but haven’t located it yet. The video provided a physical description of the suspect, but detectives have not determined his identity yet.
Sheriff Jack Campbell says detectives are still talking to witnesses and processing physical evidence in hopes of identifying and arresting the suspect.
