The Sangamon County coroner has identified the victim of a fatal shooting Wednesday night in Springfield.
38-year-old Aaron Cutler died of multiple gunshot wounds in that incident in the 300 block of South Paul Street. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene for a report of a fight, and found Cutler there.
He was transported to HSHS St. John’s Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later. Another man was also found with a gunshot wound to the back, but he was conscious and able to talk to authorities.
There was no immediate word on arrests in connection with the incident.
