Several Springfield landmarks to be illuminated in red for National Travel and Tourism Week

You’ll see several Springfield landmarks illuminated in red this week as part of a tribute to the importance of tourism to the community.

Sunday is the start of National Travel and Tourism Week. To mark the occasion, Springfield will “light up the city in red,” the color chosen to represent tourism.

Among the sites to be bathed in red light will be the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum, the Municipal Center West, and the Rees Memorial Carillon.

In addition, the fountains outside the municipal center will also flow red.
