The Springfield Area Arts Council is releasing more details about the return of First Night Springfield on New Year’s Eve.
The annual alcohol-free celebration of the arts is scheduled to return in-person for the first time in three years, after going virtual in 2020 and then seeing last year’s event canceled just days before New Year’s Eve because of a surge in COVID cases locally. This year will mark the 35th edition of First Night Springfield.
It will include children’s activities in the afternoon of December 31st at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, along with a fireworks display downtown at 8:15pm. There will be performances on several stages at the Hoogland, including live music, dance, and drama… with more acts to be announced in coming days. You can learn more at springfieldartsco.org, and tickets can be purchased at hcfta.org.
