Governor JB Pritzker’s latest executive order on the coronavirus pandemic now recommends that everyone, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks in public settings where social distancing is difficult.
Pritzker has been reissuing a statewide disaster declaration and other COVID recommendations monthly. Recent orders had only recommended masking for the unvaccinated, but the latest order says everyone, vaccinated or not, should mask up in close public settings.
The guidance is a recommendation and is not mandatory. That order will remain in place until November 12th.
