The field is set for several key races on the November ballot.
State Representative Dan Brady scored an easy win over former Sangamon County State’s Attorney John Milhiser to win the Republican nomination for Secretary of State. Brady will face former state Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, who won the Democratic nomination. And attorney Thomas DeVore… who gained fame by challenging Governor JB Pritzker’s COVID restriction in court… will face Democratic incumbent Attorney General Kwame Raoul this fall.
Kathy Salvi declared victory late Tuesday in the crowded Republican primary for U.S. Senate… she will face Senator Tammy Duckworth in November. And in the 13th Congressional District, Nikki Budzinski coasted to victory in the Democratic primary, and will face Regan Deering, who narrowly won the four-way GOP primary in that district.
