Bailey Scores Easy GOP Primary Win, Will Face Pritzker In November

In the end, it wasn’t even close.

Darren Bailey is the Republican nominee to take on Governor JB Pritzker in November. Bailey easily dominated the six-candidate field with more than 50-percent of the vote, overwhelming opponents including Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, who had the big-money backing of billionaire Ken Griffin. But Irvin faced an onslaught not only from Bailey, but also from Pritzker, who spent millions on ads depicting Bailey as the most conservative GOP contender.

Bailey is vowing to “fire Pritzker” in November, while Pritzker says by seeking Donald Trump’s endorsement, Bailey has disqualified himself from being governor.
