Abortion is more than just a hot political topic… it could also become a factor in business relocation and retention.
Ryan McCrady with the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance thinks it’s too soon to know yet if Illinois’s status as a safe haven for abortion rights, especially compared to other Midwestern states, will be a factor in whether major corporations choose to locate here.
But McCrady says social equity and diversity issues are becoming a bigger factor in these sorts of decisions… and says the Growth Alliance will be ready to respond if it appears that could influence a company’s site selection process.
