Springfield aldermen are growing frustrated over continuing delays in obtaining a consultant’s report on fire department operations… and say it’s part of a pattern of not receiving information from Mayor Jim Langfelder’s office in a timely fashion.
Alderman Ralph Hanauer says it’s “unacceptable” that the City Council still doesn’t have the fire department report, with the department’s budget hearing set for next Monday.
The new controversy follows complaints that aldermen did not receive their budget books on the proposed new city spending plan until last Friday, just three days before the first budget hearing.
