A Republican candidate is jumping into the race for Congress in the 13th Congressional District.
Jesse Reising is a former federal prosecutor and military contractor from Decatur. He hopes to win the GOP nomination in the 13th, which was drawn in the latest remap to favor Democrats. Reising says he wants to address the big challenges facing America, including high crime rates and inflation.
At least two Democrats, Nikki Budzinski and David Palmer, are also running in the 13th, which stretches from Champaign to Decatur to Springfield to the Metro East.
