Public sector workers in Illinois could be subjected to the same vaccine and testing requirements that the Biden administration is seeking to apply to large private companies, under new proposed rules filed Friday.
WCIA-TV reports the proposed rules from the Illinois Department of Labor would require workers under the jurisdiction of Illinois OSHA… including state government workers and many police and firefighters… to show proof of vaccination or submit to regular testing.
The federal mandate is currently being challenged in the U.S. Supreme Court, but a ruling there wouldn’t necessarily apply to the proposed state rules.
