Auburn Schools To Pause Classes Until January 18 Amid COVID Surge

With COVID cases hitting students, faculty, and staff hard, Auburn schools are pausing in-person instruction for the next week in order to give time for the latest outbreak to subside.

Superintendent Darren Root says the district will use the five emergency days built into its calendar from January 10th through the 14th.

That, combined with the Martin Luther King holiday on the 17th, will give students a total of ten calendar days off, which Root hopes will allow students and teachers to return to school healthy on January 18th.
