Martin Brown has been charged in the Tuesday morning shooting death of Willie Evans, but Springfield Police have concluded the shooting was justified.

The investigation by Springfield Police said witnesses saw Evans banged on the door and threatened violence, and then he tried to break into the house by breaking a bedroom window with an air conditioning unit. That’s when Brown shot at Evans, ultimately killing him.

Brown is facing a charge of Armed Habitual Offender and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon By A Felon because of 2 previous felonies from 2012 and 2018. Brown will not face any further charges at this time.
