Almost a month later, there are still no arrests or charges in a Halloween candy tampering case in Sherman.
The tainted candy was reported to Sherman police on Halloween night. Authorities determined that a blade from a disposable razor had been inserted into the candy, but also concluded that it had not come from the factory or distributed from a home in that condition.
Sherman police say they identified one adult and one juvenile as people of interest, and have concluded the adult was not directly involved.
The case was referred to the Sangamon County State’s Attorney, but no charges have been filed, and village officials say they cannot say anything else because of the age of the child.
