Funeral services will be held this weekend for a prolific local playwright.
Ken Bradbury passed away Sunday at Memorial Medical Center after a battle with cancer. He was 69.
Bradbury wrote a number of plays that were performed locally and regionally, including works based on the lives of Abraham Lincoln, Vachel Lindsay, and Robert Earl Hughes, the world’s heaviest man. Bradbury also wrote seven books, produced materials for speech and forensics teams, and organized a summer performing arts camp.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4-8pm at Buchanan and Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with funeral services Saturday morning at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville.
