A bipartisan group of Illinois lawmakers is vowing to push for an override of one of Governor Bruce Rauner’s vetoes… the one dealing with car sharing services.
Those services allow people to use an app to temporarily lease someone’s private vehicle… and are sometimes described as an “AirBnB” for cars. The original legislation would have applied some of the same regulations… and taxes… to those companies that car rental companies deal with.
Supporters of the legislation say it’s only fair that everyone play by the same rules. It’s still not clear if the votes are there to override Rauner.
