Illinois Republicans, including Governor Bruce Rauner and comptroller candidate Darlene Senger, are calling on Democratic Comptroller Susana Mendoza to drop out of her race for re-election.
That follows the revelation that Mendoza has recorded a video announcing her candidacy for Chicago mayor, a race that would get underway shortly after Tuesday’s election.
Mendoza’s camp says the video was “stolen” from them and says the video was shot as a contingency… but that Mendoza has not made up her mind about running for mayor.
