The end of October marks the beginning of peak flu season… and Governor Bruce Rauner is urging people to get their flu shot.
Rauner and his wife Diana both got their vaccinations at a Chicago Walgreen’s drug store Tuesday. The governor says it not only protects you, it reduces the risk of people around you coming down with the flu. Influenza can be dangerous and even deadly for the very old and very young, and those with other health complications.
The vaccine is available in shot and nasal spray form, but it can take a couple of weeks for it to fully take effect.
