Attorney General Lisa Madigan is going back to court against an East Central Illinois bed-and-breakfast that was found to have discriminated against a same-sex couple.
TimberCreek Bed and Breakfast in Paxton was ordered to pay more than $80,000 in fines, fees, and damages for refusing to host a civil union ceremony for two men back in 2011. It was also ordered to host a celebration for the couple at the facility. Madigan says the company has not complied with the order, despite losing several appeals.
Madigan’s lawsuit in Ford County Circuit Court asks the judge to order the company to comply with the prior orders.
