Congressman Darin LaHood says he’s proud of his record and stands by it… despite sharp criticism from his Democratic challenger as the two faced off in a live debate Monday night in Springfield.
In the hourlong forum, heard live on WMAY and co-sponsored by the State Journal-Register, Democrat Junius Rodriguez criticized LaHood’s votes on health care, saying they endangered protections for pre-existing conditions… and said LaHood’s support of a tax cut bill mostly benefitted the rich and exploded the federal deficit.
LaHood says he supported changes that protected pre-existing conditions but also gave people more health care choices, more affordably… and says the GOP tax cut plan has turbocharged the U.S. economy.
