J.B. Pritzker’s campaign is pressing back against the claims made in a discrimination lawsuit brought by current and former staffers.
The lawsuit claims that Pritzker never visited the office where the staffers were stationed in a predominantly minority Chicago neighborhood… but Capitol Fax says the campaign produced records showing Pritzker went there four times. The suit also alleges one staffer was placed in a Peoria hotel in a dangerous neighborhood… and the campaign refused her request to move. But the campaign has records showing the staffer was shifted to another higher-priced hotel, and then was moved again when she complained further.
And the lawsuit’s claim that a black staffer was told to cut his dreadlocks and was given a raise to buy his silence was refuted by the staffer himself… who says his haircut was his own decision, and says he did not receive a raise.
